Rep. Jon Patterson, the Speaker of the Missouri House (a fellow KCMO Housing Provider) who led the legislative body as they passed our historic & critical business-saving Source of Income ban this year, is running for state Senate.
Many don’t realize that we also got a couple of other wins in the bill (preventing reductions in security deposits & banning Tenants’ Right of First Refusal when owners sell their properties). As we look to the upcoming session, I’ll have more legislative updates for you & what’s next as we welcome your input and ideas.
We always talk about what we need to do to positively impact legislation early on. This is great opportunity – instead of focusing on the resistant KCMO City Council. 
Since Jon is now running for the Senate, and needs as many donations as possible before the 12/31/25 deadline, let’s spread the word to our peers. We’ll need strong voices and protectors of private property rights like him who know us and will work with us in the Senate next term, as he has in the MO state House.
