To Get Help

Assistance programs are based on where you live. Links to connect to the correct rental assistance program are in the Links below. If you are unsure of which program to go to or where to start, we recommend dialing 211 on your phone or going to http://211kc.org/

If you are not in the Kansas City Metro area, you can visit NCSHA to find emergency rental assistance in your area.

United Way

For the Entire Metro Area, United Way has some programs that they are administering and will also connect you with the correct program if they do not serve your particular area.

KS Housing Resources

Serving all of Kansas Except for Wichita

State Of Missouri

Missouri Housing Resources Corporation seves most of the state of Missouri, although their latest program does not cover Kansas City Missouri, Clay County or Jacksoin in the KC Metro area as they received their own funding and have their own programs.

  1. […] Instead of eviction moratoriums, the simple answer is to get the rent paid. The government, through our tax dollars, has provided a great resource to do that with millions of dollars of rental assistance in the states of Kansas and Missouri. To register, go to KCRegionalHousingAlliance.org/GetTheRentPaid. […]

  2. Good morning I have a handful of residents that need rent assistance. How can I get the process started to help them receive assistance?

    1. Eva it depends on where you are. It looks like Kansas City Missouri.

So I would start at whttp://kcmo.gov/renthelp

For the new KCMO Program, it looks like they would apply here https://www.communitycarelink.com/cares-act-assistance-sign-up with some basic info and if they qualify, they would be ask to complete the application.

I highly recommend watching our event at 10 am on Friday either through zoom where you can submit questions or on facebook.
To register to attend go to http://www.KCRegionalHousingAlliance.org/help (ask your renters to attend as well or direct them to the replay we will be posting her on our website and on facebook).

If they need help with applications you can help them, they can go to the kcmo Public library and we have a few more community groups that will be on our virtual event who will also help.

  3. I will be working on the phone at that time…is there anywhere else I should go to apply for assistance?

    1. Celestine, we will have the Live Streams as replays later in the day so you can come back and watch them at anytime that is convenient.

If you are not sure where to start, I would dial 211 on your phone, visit http://www.211KC.org as a good starting point.
