Notice of Delinquent Rent

As we are working to help our renters apply for Rental Assistance, one item that many need is some form showing they are delinquent. Normally you may have sent them a Pay or Quit Notice or a Late Notice that is the first step toward evicting them.

But right now you have a unique situation that will allow you to work with your renter and help them get your rent paid, all of their back rent and potentially 3 months of future rent. And rather than scaring them and taking that first step toward eviction, you just want to give them an official form stating that delinquency so they can provide that to the Rental Assistance Program.

We reached out to Attorney Julie Anderson and she has provided two forms to do just that:

  1. I hope this works. I’ve been applying all I can and nothing so far. I’m behind 2450.00$ and utilities are very high also. I need help badly. I just started working yesterday finally. No stimulus or unemployment checks at all. Flat broke. I get food stamps thank GOD! Help! Help!…

    1. Jeff, If you can’t pay due to covid you should qualify for something. You should only be able to get assistance from one source. And there should only be one source available where you live for the federal stimulus:

Kansas City Missouri has their own program http://www.kcmo.gov/renthelp
Missouri has a resource for everywhere but KCMO
Clay County has their own for areas outside of Kansas City Missouri
And Kansas has their own on their side of the state link.

Be sure to join us for the event on friday on zoom, on facebook, or as a replay.
