About Us Page KC Regional Housing Alliance

If you missed the Special Housing Committee meeting on December 2nd, the above is a full recording. While we encourage all who were not there to watch all of the video, we would like to direct your attention to some very key points that we as the opposition to the regulations feel need to be seen:

  • 0:30:40 Show of Hands In Favor – about the front 6 rows (that are much narrower than the rest of the room. Then Show of Hands Against – the entire rest of the room 8 to 9 wider rows plus the standing room only crowd.
  • 1:07:22 Statement by Robert Long, president of Landlords Inc.
  • 1:21:10 Statement by Bob Wise, Attorney Representing Landlords for 25+ years and leader at KC Crime Free Housing
  • 1:23:37 Statement by Malia Hatley – local landlord.
  • 1:30:10 Jennifer Justice: Local Realtor and Landlord
  • 1:35:15 Stacey Johnson-Cosby: Leader of KC Regional Housing Alliance, Community Leader, Realtor and landlord.

After going through the various versions of the regulations, a little over an hour of testimony from both sides and some very good questions by the committee, the Resolution was passed fairly quickly, and a revised version of the Ordinance was passed after many questions and revisions.

Several of the committee members thought that everyone was happy with the compromises made and we need to let them know that while we like the compromises made, that neither the Resolution or the Ordinance is ready to be passed.
